CHANGES TO SCHEDULES - updated Wednesday, May 25, 2022

Posted May 25, 2022

Most fields have reopened in the City of Ottawa, however, all teams are asked to check their schedules carefully for changes.  West Carleton Fields have reopened  --  practices scheduled for this evening are on!  The "Fields" tab, above has the layout of all West Carleton soccer fields; check the "recreation" tab for your division for practice fields.

If you have not been contacted by a coach to tell you your player's team, we appreciate your patience as  many of them are still without power and/or internet:

Please check your "junk" or "spam" mail before contacting the program coordinator for assistance:;;;;;

Please note the City of Ottawa has closed all soccer fields today, Tuesday, May 24, for the City of Ottawa, which includes all fields in West Carleton.

All recreation games and practices are cancelled today.

Talons and Adult OCSL teams:  please check your schedules for cancellations -- only games outside the City of Ottawa city limits are possible, although many of those may be cancelled as well due to storm damage.

Please check our website and your emails for further notices:  we will post day by day as we get more information.

Many soccer games are being postponed due to the storm.  We appreciate your patience as we work to update the schedules on the website, many of our coaches, players and Board members are still without power and/or internet connections.

Most rescheduled games for this coming week will automatically be moved to the end of the schedule, where you see games "parked" in December, we need to find a new date that will work for both teams.

Micro Session 1:  will start Thursday May 26 as planned, the field locations are in the recreation section of the website on the division's page.

U6 Boys and Girls:  will start Tuesday, May 31

U8 Boys and Girls:  no games were scheduled for this week, practices will continue Wednesday (unless your are contacted by your coach to cancel).

U10 and older teams playing in the GLSL:  games will start May 30, practices this week at the discretion of your coach.  Practice fields for U10 and U12 are posted in the recreation section of the website near the top of the page for your division.

Teams playing in the ERSL, EODSL or OCSL:  please check their websites before heading out to a game this week -- cancellations due to storm damage are being updated by the leagues as quickly as possible.

If you have not been contacted by a coach to tell you your player's team, please give it a day or two before contacting the Program Director for assistance, many of them are still without power:;;;;;

Rowan's Law: The Risk - Know the Signs of a Concussion

As mandated by the province through Rowan's Law, it is a requirement to have parents and team staff confirm every year that they have reviewed Ontario's concussion awareness resources.  All players (a parent or guardian for players under 18) must have read the documents and completed the Rowan's Law acknowledgement prior to participating in any game/practice/try-out/assessment.

Review the following documents prior to completing the acknowledgement, which is included in the on-line registration for all programs as of August 28, 2019.  On-line registration must be completed prior to participation in any soccer activity.

The Risk - Know the Signs of a Concussion

Thank you for your understanding and compliance with this important issue -- read/review the documents before you register for any program with WCSC, document links:

  1. Recognize Symptoms of a Concussion
  2.  Designated Person (Per Phase 2 of Rowan's Law)
  3.  Removal from and Return to Play
  4.  Code of Conduct for Players (and parents of players under 18)
  5.  Code of Conduct for Team Officials (Coaches, etc.)
