The West Carleton Talons U16 Boys Regional team competed this past weekend at the Ottawa Internationals Icebreaker tournament.  Placed in a pool with 5 other teams, from Ottawa and Quebec, they completed the 5 game round robin with 4 wins and one loss, to finish 1st in the pool, earning a bye in the quarter-final round.  They beat a Montreal based team from St. Lazare 3-0 in the semis, earning a spot in the tournament final.  In the final, they faced a team from TFC, who they had edged 1-0 earlier in the tournament.  The final was not as evenly matched, as the Talons continued their strong play and strode to a convincing 4-0 victory to take home the gold medal in their first tournament of the season.
