May 16th, 2020

Dear Membership

I am writing to you today with an update on the WCSC summer soccer programs. The WCSC has, and will continue to abide by the health and safety policies put forth by Ottawa Public Health and Ontario Soccer.  One of our core mandates is to provide fun and safe soccer programs for the youth in West Carleton, and we plan on only resuming our soccer activities when it is safe to do so.

This is a very difficult time for the WCSC, as this week would normally be the start of our soccer season. Not knowing exactly how long this team sport shutdown will last, our board of directors have come up with several plans for the 2020 recreational soccer season.  Should Ontario Soccer allow a return to play, we will be running our house league programs in July and August with all games completed by the Labour day weekend.  We have decided not to extend the season past this point, as we do not want to interfere with the new school year or other fall activities.

We thank you for your continued support

Sincerely,

Joel Bondy

President
