March 29, Update from WCSC President
March 29, 2020

March 29, 2020 Update:

Dear Membership

I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and managing to stay positive during this challenging time.  The WCSC has been in contact with our various leagues and the EODSA (Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association), throughout the Covid crisis and have been following all the recommendations with regard to soccer registrations and season planning.

Currently all soccer programs are on hold until May.  This has caused the cancellation of our Talons teams preseason training.  We are still preparing to offer a full regular season for both Talons and recreational teams after the long weekend in May as per usual.  However, given the serious nature of the Covid pandemic, we are also planning for the possibilities of either a shortened season or a full soccer cancellation.  Quite simply we will not put our players at risk.

Given the stress and economic strain that this health crisis has put on families we will be extending our early bird rates for all registrations until further notice.  You can also complete the registration, and select the “pay offline” option. In this option we will require payment at a later date, at least 48hours before the 1st soccer activity.  In the event that the season is cancelled, all registered players will receive a full refund. We look forward to another great season of West Carleton Soccer, whenever that may be. Stay well and enjoy your families.

March 13, 2020 Update:

Ontario Soccer suspends all soccer activities in the province due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer, have been monitoring the most recent developments with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the emerging public health crisis.

Following discussions with the national governing body, input from relevant government agencies and medical experts, Ontario Soccer has made the difficult decision to immediately suspend all sanctioned soccer activities in the province until further notice.

Ontario Soccer sanctioned activities include, but not limited to, all competitions, training, coach and match official education and team building activities.

To ensure the health and safety of our players, coaches, match officials and administrators, West Carleton Soccer Club will cease operations indefinitely.

Online registration for programs will remain open, we will be available through email or phone to assist where necessary.

Ontario Soccer will continue following the guidelines set forth by the public health authorities, government agencies and soccer governing bodies.

Updates will be issued as appropriate and will include further details as warranted.
